Cinnamon Apple Bites

Craving Sugar?

We are coming into one of my favourite times of year... CHRISTMAS! But with that comes a lot of food including all those yummy sweets.

Of course we are all going to indulge a couple of times through the season but when you are trying to stay on track it is nice to have a treat to help shake that sugar craving. 

These apple morsels are my new favourite treat! Thanks to my friend Kelly for this awesome recipe she found at PaleOmg! There is no added sugar, no chocolate just the natural sugars from the apple mixed with some yummy cinnamon to satisfy your cravings without the sugar crash!

What you Need
1 green apple chopped up
1/2 cup coconut cream (I used coconut milk)
3 tbsp coconut oil
2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of sea salt
2 extra tbsp coconut oil for cooking

Add chopped apples to a heated pan with coconut oil, and cook until apple pieces start to soften.

Once apples are soft add in the cinnamon and salt and remove from heat.

Then mix melted coconut oil and coconut cream or milk together adding in a bit of extra cinnamon if you like. Add in the apple mixture until well coated. Place muffin liners in a muffin tray and spoon out mixture into cups. Then place tray in the fridge or freezer to firm and enjoy.
